I have no idea if anyone still reads these with Green Lizard put to sleep and all, but I have been thinking about writing a "newsletter" for quite some time now. I am sorry it has taken me this long to do it but here's an update :D
First and foremost: My son Miko is getting a baby brother this summer and we couldn't be happier! I truly feel blessed and look forward to meeting my new son!
Second of all, let me assure you that the Green Lizard mourning period is officially over! The past couple of weeks I have been playing with different musicians from all over the country, to try out my newly written songs. And let me tell you, I am having a blast rocking these new tunes!! I am also glad I have good ear plugs, because they are very, very loud!! Hopefully I will be able to finish writing, and recording these songs before august (baby/diaper time), and with the help of some very talented people that might just be possible! I have no idea what will happen to these songs once I have recorded them but hopefully I will be lucky enough to get them out there so I can share them with you and of course play them live in a venue near you!
So please shout out to me if you want be kept in the loop! I am not sure what to call this project yet. So for now you can reach me at my own name :D

And last but not least: The band LEFT has found a label for their Debut Album "The Quest For Fire". Not counting Las Armas, this will be the first official release with me as a Producer! I am very excited about all of this!!!! There will be a release party on the fifteenth of May in the Altstadt in Eindhoven, and I will definitely be there to play a song or two with them! DUTCH NEDERLANDS WOOETTTT (ang clan)

Ik heb geen idee of iemand dit ook daadwerkelijk nog leest, aangezien Green Lizard "ter ziele" is, maar ik heb al een hele tijd zin om een nieuwsberichtje te sturen, dus bij deze (voor die drie mensen die er daadwerkelijk op zitten te wachten, sorry dat het zo lang geduurd heeft! ghehe):
Op de eerste plaats wil ik van de daken schreeuwen dat mijn zoontje Miko (behalve dat ie een bijzonder goede drummer is voor een kind van 2) een broertje gaat krijgen deze zomer! Ik voel me echt erg gezegend en hoop dat alles goed gaat natuurlijk!
Op de tweede plaats wil ik jullie laten weten dat wat mij betreft de Green Lizard rouwperiode officieel voorbij is. De afgelopen weken heb ik het geluk gehad om mijn nieuwe nummers te kunnen uitproberen met allerlei muzikanten in het land. Het was heerlijk om ze eens met meerdere mensen te kunnen doornemen en spelen, om zodanig een gevoel te krijgen hoe ze in een een live situatie gaan klinken! Gelukkig heb ik oordoppen want de nieuwe tracks gaan kei en kei hard! Met een beetje mazzel kan ik genoeg nummers afschrijven en opnemen voor de zomer! Hopelijk kan ik ze dan snel delen met de buitenwereld en wellicht zelfs bij jou in de buurt ten gehore brengen. Dat lijkt mij in ieder geval wel erg vet!
Dus als je op de hoogte gehouden wilt worden laat mij dat dan weten en stuur me een emailtje of berichtje. Ik heb nog niet echt een naam voor dit nieuwe project, dus je kan me voorlopig bereiken op mijn eigen naam:

Als laatste kan ik jullie heel trots vertellen dat de band LEFT een label heeft gevonden voor hun door mij geproduceerde Album: The Quest For Fire. Het zal mijn eerste non Green Lizard productie credit zijn op een daadwerkelijk release!! Ik ben ontzettend trots op de band en het werk dat ze hebben verricht!
Natuurlijk zal er een release party zijn omtrent dit album en wel in de Altstadt in Eindhoven op 15 mei 2009. Ik zal er in ieder geval bij zijn om een nummertje of twee mee te rocken!

News From The Grave!

Hi everybody,
It's been a while, I know.. but life is constantly changing, and so am I.
People have been asking me a lot what's going on with my life, whether or not Green Lizard will be doing anything anytime soon and If I still make music at all...
So here's the scoop.
The past couple of months I have been very busy with a couple of things... First and foremost, together with my wife Wendel I am trying to raise my son Miko. And let me tell you, that's one difficult job. It's a blessing to watch him grow up, and the amount of daily kisses I get really make up for the sleepless nights we are having! He already knows a lot of words and the other day he said his first sentence.. “Papa taar” which translates to “Daddy Guitar”. I am so proud.
Next to being a husband and a dad I also went out and got myself a new education. I am proud to announce that I have completed my studies in Advanced Character Animation. As some of you might know I have always been very interested in animation and film making, and I felt I needed to bring it to the next level. I have been fortunate enough to be taught by some of the industries best Animators who work at Pixar, Dreamworks and Disney to just name a few... I am not sure where this will take me in the future, but I just want to keep learning stuff so that's why I did it. I will be traveling to San Fransisco later this year to collect my Diploma!
On the music front I have been working with a very cool band from around Eindhoven called Left. I have known them for quite some time now, ever since they opened up for Green Lizard a while back. They completely blew my socks of back then, so I was very happy when they approached me to produce their debut album. After some days of hard work in their own rehearsal studio we went to the new Source Studio in The Hague where together with Master Engineer (and a fine producer himself) Oscar Bor we recorded 12 killer tracks... They are being mixed by Oscar as we speak and next week I'll be going back to The Hague to finish them up with him. There are some cool pics online as I recall, so go to www.whatisleft.nl to check them out.
As for my own music, yesterday I went back to my own studio and recorded the beginnings of a new track.. still not sure where I am going with it, but I already opened up a new myspace account...
I am also busting out jams with some of the lizards on a non regular basis . Which is always nice.
